Now that I'm a sophmore I really feel that I have inproved a lot from last year. When I first stared last year I didn't know what I was really doing but the more I got to learn the better I got. I can now say that when I write I put more thought into it and really brain storm on what I'm trying to say. The skill that I think I improved a lot in is the six traits because at first I had no idea what it was or how it works, but now that I know what they are I apply the skill to all the things I write.
My goal is to become a better writer by and to be more descriptive. Also I want to use what I learned and apply it to the songs I write.

Hi Marissa,
ReplyDeleteI agree that you worked hard on your writing last year and that you have improved in your essays. With the same determination, you should be able to get even better this year!
Here are my comments about your pro/con pre-assessment: You have a good idea to argue against the ban on iPods and other technology. What we’ll work on during the year is: 1) including stronger ideas from various sources (there were more specifics in the articles you read) and 2) removing phrases like “the article I read” and “in this article it says” which aren’t really necessary to the argument and finding smoother more effective ways to present evidence and support.
